A Norfolk, Virginia native, Anthony Wayne finds joy in sharing his gifts with the world. Since graduating from Maury High School and then College with his Bachelors in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory, he has toured The United States and the World extensively with Fame - The Musical (U.S./Korea) as Tyrone Jackson, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, The Will Rogers Follies starring Larry Gatlin, and the First Broadway National Tours of The Color Purple and A Chorus Line as Richie. His Regional Credits include Parade as Jim Conley, CATS as Rum Tum Tugger, AIDA (Maine State Music Theatre), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), SWING! (Theatre Under the Stars, Houston), Sophisticated Ladies starring Maurice Hines (Arena Stage, D.C.), Robin and the 7 Hoods (Old Globe, San Diego) and PIPPIN (American Repertory Theatre). His further training extends from The Alvin Ailey School in New York City to Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago in Illinois. Off-Broadway, he was seen in the Critically Acclaimed NY City Center Encores! productions of Anyone Can Whistle and Bells Are Ringing. He made his Broadway debut in the recent Revival of Anything Goes starring Tony Award Winners Sutton Foster and Joel Grey and then moved on to the Broadway production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical. He is currently back on Broadway in the Critically Acclaimed Smash Broadway revival of PIPPIN which is playing at The Music Box Theatre. While performing on Broadway, Anthony continues to grow and create. He sees himself walking in the footsteps of those who came before him such as Ben Vereen, Gregg Burge, Hinton Battle, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Gregory Hines. Driven and determined, Mr. Wayne is a Passionate and Anointed individual who gives God the Glory in all he does. Anthony is backed by love and consistent encouragement from his family and his partner, Kendrell Bowman.
