A Norfolk, Virginia native, Anthony Wayne finds joy in sharing his gifts with the world. Since graduating with his Bachelors in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory, he has toured The United States and the World extensively with Fame - The Musical (U.S./Korea) as Tyrone Jackson, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, The Will Rogers Follies starring Larry Gatlin, and the First Broadway National Tours of The Color Purple and A Chorus Line as Richie. His Regional Credits include Parade as Jim Conley, CATS as Rum Tum Tugger, AIDA (Maine State Music Theatre), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), SWING! (Theatre Under the Stars, Houston), Sophisticated Ladies starring Maurice Hines (Arena Stage, D.C.) and Robin and the 7 Hoods (Old Globe, San Diego). His further training extends from The Alvin Ailey School in New York City to Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago in Illinois. Off-Broadway, he was seen in the Critically Acclaimed NY City Center Encores! productions of Anyone Can Whistle and Bells Are Ringing. He made his Broadway debut in the Three Time Tony Award Winning Revival of Anything Goes starring Tony Award Winners Sutton Foster and Joel Grey. He’s currently Starring as Jimmy in the Broadway production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical. While performing on Broadway, Anthony continues to grow and create. He sees himself walking in the footsteps of those who came before him such as Ben Vereen, Gregg Burge, Hinton Battle, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Gregory Hines. He’s currently in the process of writing a book, Creating a Musical and working on a Documentary while expanding himself in the commercial and print world. In 2011, he started his own Production company (awayne Productions, Inc.) which was created to produce exciting works that will encourage and inspire many to go above and beyond in life. Driven and determined, Mr. Wayne is a Passionate and Anointed individual who gives God the Glory in all he Does. He loves to open his heart and spirit through his work to be an Inspiration for others to push on to New Plateaus and Higher Heights, no matter what obstacles arise.
